When it comes to lighted make up mirrors, you have many different options to choose from, many different brands that all specialize in different areas, and many different prices to choose from as well. There’s really something for everyone that allows your exact personal preferences to shine through.
Today I’m going to talk about all of this in a fair amount of detail so that you will be able to pick the mirror that’s right for you. I’ll also discuss where you can get the best deals and how to know what to pay so that you don’t get overcharged!
First let’s talk about lighting because the lighting of your mirror could arguably be the most in important factor. Has this ever happened to you? You apply your makeup and everything looks great until you get outside of your house when suddenly you look in the rear view mirror of your car and you notice that your makeup is blotchy or uneven! This is because the light in your mirror can be different than the light in real life!
To fix this problem and make sure it absolutely never happens again, you need the right mirror with the right lighting. The best ones offer several different lighting settings that allow you to choose which situation you think you’ll be in. For instance there is usually a home lighting setting and there is work lighting that’s supposed to mimic the light in your office. There is also often day time lighting and nighttime lighting so that you can apply makeup evenly for a night on the town.
Generally speaking the best mirrors will have those four lighting settings. Your cheaper models will often only have two light settings, one for daylight and one for night light. Some people find that those two settings are enough for them, while others want all four settings. This is really just a matter of personal preference.
The kind of bulb in your mirror can be important as well. Some cosmetic mirrors have LED lights that aren’t ever supposed to be changed, or I should actually say… won’t ever burn out so that they don’t HAVE to be change. The book is still out on these lights as some people really like them while others feel that they aren’t quite bright enough. I suppose it depends on the model and brand of mirror that you get.
When it comes to mirrors there are basically two different types, round or oval mirrors and square mirrors. Square mirrors usually fold out and have more lighting options, while round or oval mirrors will have less obvious lighting options but can have a more focused approach which gives you more light. Again, this is widely a matter of your own personal preference since one is not really any better or worse than the other it’s just a matter of what you are used to and what you like.
As far as brands go there are several major brands when it comes to lighted mirrors that I’m sure you’re probably already aware of. These include Conair, Jerdon, and Revlon… just to name a few. Conair tends to offer a wide variety of lower end cheaper models while Jerdon offers more expensive options. I think of Revlon mirrors as more novelty than functional, though many people really like them.
Whichever of the many lighted make up mirrors you ultimately choose to use yourself, make sure that you are happy with it because; let’s face it, you are going to be using it every day for the rest of your life! This might mean that you have to buy several and test them out and return them if you’re not happy with them, and that’s just fine!
