Many women think that just because it is a travel mirror that they have to skimp on functionality or usefulness. Nothing could be further from the truth and I’m here to tell you all about it today!
First of all there are really sort of two types that you’re going to have to be aware of. The first type is small and portable, it’s the kind of mirror that you can easily slip into your suitcase and hardly notice that you have it. The other type is the larger models. These are the type of mirrors that you need to pack especially in their own container. They are durable, to be sure, but they are also large, or at least larger than the first type I mentioned. If you are going to be on an extended travel for work, then it may be worth it to bring one of these larger models along, otherwise you can get by just fine with the first type.
The first type is by far the more popular of the two. They consist usually of a round mirror that comes in a case to fit the mirror. The mirror breaks away from the case with an extendable arm and the case becomes the base. This means that the whole thing folds up into a compact small oval, that is the size of the mirror and roughly 1 to 2 inches thick. This makes tucking this model into a briefcase or suitcase incredibly convenient. These mirrors work quite well, ranging from several different magnifications and lighting types to fit whatever need or preference you have.

This mirror comes with some heavy duty magnification! At 10X, it may be too much magnification for you. This is a perfect mirror for almost every travel need.
Lighted 8x Magnifying 7-inch Travel Mirror at $30 this is an example of the second, more bulky type of travel mirror. It contains a large base that houses the electrical units of this mirror. It also has an 8X magnification which might be more than most women need. The mirror itself is 7 inches in diameter which is slightly smaller than normal but still adequate and is made of distortion free glass. This model will fold up slightly flat but is still quite bulky.
Floxite 10X Lighted Travel & Home Mirror this is another sleek model that folds up completely flat. The difference between this and the Rialto is that this Floxite mirror does not have an extension arm but merely opens like a clamshell. It comes with 10X magnification which is very powerful and it’s bulbs supposedly never need replacing. It operates with just three AAA batteries which is convenient for travel.
When you get right down to it, picking the right lighted travel mirror is particularly important, especially if you do a lot of traveling for work. But like most makeup related things, picking the right mirror is something that you’re going to want to do personally based on your own gut instinct. Sometimes the best reviewed mirrors simply don’t work right for you, and that’s okay. So it’s important to find the right one for you.
