Wall Mount Magnifying Mirror

When it comes to a good wall mount magnifying mirror you really have two broad options. The first are the types of mirrors with brackets that attach to a wall and swing out on arms or accordion type hinges of different types. The second are full-on large square mirrors surrounded in lights that you hang on a wall like any other mirror.

For the most part, I will be focusing on and discussing the first type of mirror, the smaller mirrors that attach to a wall and swing out on arms. I’ll be talking about both lighted and unlighted models today, some of the different brands you can choose from, and some of the prices you can expect to run up against.

A makeup mirror is not like an ordinary mirror. We use them for specific things and we need them to work very well under a number of different conditions. They make us feel confident every day knowing that we’re stepping out of our homes looking the absolute best that we can. If you own the best makeup, which can be the most expensive makeup in the world… it doesn’t matter if you can’t apply it correctly and to do that you need a good mirror. Many women swear by wall mount mirror’s because they’re so flexible that you can move them around to fit any position that you need quickly and easily. That makes these mirrors especially important to our everyday lives.

Types of Wall Mounted Mirrors There are many different brands to choose from, and many different models in each brand…but before I get into all that I want to spend a quick minute or two discussing the type of arm for your mounted mirror. There are two main types of arms that you’ll see. One is a sort of accordion looking arm that simply extends in and out. Many women like these types of mirrors but I find they aren’t quite as flexible as the second type which is more popular. I call the second type the two-armed mirror since they usually have two straight arms that allow you to move the mirror in a range of motion that is much more flexible, in my opinion.

What About Installation? installing these mirrors is much easier than you might think. One thing you don’t have to worry about is purchasing extra hardware. I’m not aware of any mirrors that don’t come with everything you’ll need for installation (except a screwdriver and drill of course!). So don’t worry about that, your mirror will come with all the hardware you need to get it up and running. For the most part they just require that you drill a couple of holes in your wall and then screw the base plate in with a screwdriver. It’s really something you can do on your own, but if you aren’t particularly handy with that sort of thing, then you can get a friend to help you quickly. It’s not really much of a job to hire, say, a carpenter to come and do as you are just really required to drill two holes in your wall. It shouldn’t take you longer than a minute or two to do.

What about brands? personally I like Conair mirrors at the low end, and Jerdon mirrors for the higher priced high-end of the spectrum. Each of them have many different models to choose from and many different colors of brushed metal or nickel or copper mirrors to choose from at a variety of prices. Conair mirrors tend to run between $20 and $50 while Jerdon mirrors will typically run you anywhere from $40 to $150. It’s really just a matter of personal choice and what your budget will allow as both brands have very nice options at all price ranges.

Whichever wall mount magnifying mirror you ultimately decide to purchase, make sure that you get the one that’s right for you. Magnifications vary, and lighting options vary… so be sure you get one to suit your needs and your environment because you’re going to be using this thing daily for years to come so you want to be sure that you’ve gotten something that’s right for you and you alone.
